1. Voltage level and application scenarios
110kV is a high-voltage class, commonly used in regional power grid transmission links, connecting high-voltage transmission lines and distribution networks, applicable to urban substations, industrial and mining enterprises and new energy power stations (such as wind farms, photovoltaic power plants) of the step-up/down demand.
2. Structural design features
Cooling method: mostly oil-immersed (oil-cooled) design, through the transformer oil to achieve insulation and heat dissipation, some new products use forced oil circulation or air-cooling technology to improve efficiency.
Winding materials: high-voltage windings usually use copper conductors, low-voltage windings may use copper or aluminum, copper accounted for a high proportion to ensure low loss and high conductivity.
Insulation system: Reinforcement of interlayer insulation and main insulation structure, commonly used epoxy resin impregnated paper or composite insulation materials to ensure long-term operational stability.
3. Performance Parameters
Capacity range: The capacity of a single unit generally ranges from 10MVA to 240MVA, which can meet the needs of medium and large power loads.
Loss control: The use of step-jointed iron core, high magnetic conductivity silicon steel sheet and other technologies to reduce no-load loss, in line with the energy efficiency class I or II standards (such as GB 20052).
Short-circuit resistance: mechanical strength and electromagnetic balance are strengthened during design, and the ability to withstand sudden short-circuit current is verified through short-circuit test.
4. Technical Advantages
High reliability: adapting to the complex grid environment, with strong overload capacity and anti-harmonic interference characteristics.
Intelligent upgrading: some new 110kV transformers are integrated with online monitoring systems (such as DGA oil and gas analysis and temperature sensors) to realize fault early warning and condition assessment.
5. Environmental protection and cost
Environmental requirements: need to meet the fire, explosion-proof and low noise standards (≤ 75dB), part of the scene to promote the use of biodegradable transformer oil.
Economy: Initial investment is high, but the full life cycle cost (including operation and energy efficiency) is better than that of low voltage transformers.
